The Hook grips the stand with heavy duty Velcro. It is easily adjusted for oboe, EH, or clarinet heights. The metal is slightly flexible so it won't hold you in one playing no position- you can move! The hook that holds your instrument is rounded, no sharp corners, and cushioned with a soft rubber tip. No scratches! Also, no change in timbre, volume, or pitch.
